Electropolishing systems

A stainless steel electropolishing system enables you to achieve

Spray or immersion pickling?

People often ask us which of the two technologies is best

Delmet makes both “traditional” tank pickling systems and spray pickling systems, so it’s a unbiased question for us in the commercial sense.

From the technical point of view, the spray method is unrivalled when this can be used instead of immersion.

  • Let’s hear it for energy savings. In terms of electrical energy alone, heating and extraction on a medium-sized 12,000-litre tank (3x2x2m) over the course of its life cycle costs more than the cost of an equivalent sized spray system
  • Huge volumes. Installing a treatment tank for just one process requires 12,000 litres, and if we’re looking to carry out 3 processes such as degreasing, pickling and passivation, this calls for as much as 36,000 litres of chemical products that need to be stored with the relevant permits. In the case of the spray method our systems carry out the 3 processes using less than 500 kg in total.
  • Still on the subject of saving, the extraction and heating of a tank system has to be continuous or timed to achieve the desired conditions. Our spray systems have to be heated and a extracted ONLY when needed, and reach optimal conditions in a very short space of time

  • The best possible result. The systems you’ll have available have been designed to use a limited and always fresh amount of pickling solution for each work cycle, enabling the programmed replacement of the liquid used: this way you always work with processing liquids at maximum efficiency!

  • Reclamation is the future. Systems are always offered that can be coupled with water treatment units with the capacity to reduce water consumption by 70%, while guaranteeing perfect final results.
  • Cost is important. Amid all the constant talk about Industry 4.0, why relegate the final processing phase to the stone age? A spray pickling unit can measure the energy and water that is uses, and a small amount of additional data enables a precise calculation of the processing costs. As for every other department in your company you’ll no longer have hidden costs, but will know finally what your real costs are
  • Moving with the times. Your spray systems will be supported by remote assistance and predictive maintenance, and can be interfaced with your IT system.
  • The taxman will give you 36%! Industry 4.0 compatibility means you can deduct 36% of the cost of the system.
